For a while  Ruggedy baba seems to have been quiet, but from news reaching me he's been working on new material and experimenting with new music. He has recorded songs with 2face, Djinee, Reminisce and is working on one with fuji artiste Saheed Oshupa.


He has also been busy shooting videos. Photos above are from the set of his music video for 'Because Of 
You' ft 2face and MI (From the Untouchable album), coming soon!
All i can say is dat dey are looking good.

Gov Fashola flies father abroad for medical treatment

                                 



The governor flew his sick dad, Ademola Fashola, to the US last week for medical attention for an undisclosed ailment. Pa Fashola was said to have been accompanied to the US by two doctors from Lagos state, one of who is the Medical Director of Ebute Metta Health Centre, Dr. F.O Williams. 


I guess the crisis rocking the state's health sector doesn't affect him personally. Of course it woudnt. 

Peter Okoye set to star in a new Movie.

   

          
Seems like the proud papa of one will soon star in a movie, going by what I've heard and by a tweet from top Nollywood producer, Kunle Afolayan. Looking forward to it...as long they have scenes where takes off his shirt...:-)

A nigerian born councillor Kate Anolue is the new major of london borough of enfield, in the united kingdom.
Councillor Anolue, who served as Deputy Mayor last year took over from councillor Christiana during. Councillor Anolue represents Upper Edmonton Ward and was first elected to the council in 2002.


I get really proud when stuff like this happens. Congrats ma'am.

Our own nollywood actress Geneveive stars alongside hollywood actor Isaiah Washington in the hollywood/nollywood movie produced by Nigerian Movie producer Tony Abulu. The movie about finding a cure for cancer also features Vivica A Fox, Jimmy Jean Louis, Stephanie Okereke, Desmond Elliot, Zack Orji, Bern Cohen and a lot more other amazing actors/actresses.

Mo Abudu set to launch TV Channel

The Moments with Mo host, Mo Abudu   is working on  her own television channel called EbonyLife, which would be ready in 2013. Mo said, d said the 24hr channel will focus on celebrating Africans and potraying Africa in a positive light.
Way to go, i have got a ton full of respect for this lady.

Question of the day: Why do women bleach their skin?

Girl on the left is same Naija babe. The one on the right is Mshoza, a South African singer who underwent skin whitening treatment because 'she was tired of being ugly'.

I understand using skin toning creams...a lot of us women have used it at one time or the other, to 'brighten or 'maintain' the skin complexion, in some cases to make the skin glow, etc etc...

What I do not understand is outright bleaching of the skin complexion. Going from dark-skinned to white-skinned. Why do some women do it? They think bleaching enhances their beauty or black isn't beautiful? Please share your thoughts..


Personally i feel d look beautiful wit d black skin, wit dis outrite ligtening d just look yellow. No beauty.

Broke national public Figures: Does the Government owe them anything?

Rashidi Yekini we heard died penniless. Gringory and a few other past figures also died broke. The guy you see above is Bilyaminu, popularly known as Billy the Kid, a former Nigerian international boxer who won several titles in the 80s. Now he's battling mental illness and lives in a makeshift home near a dump site in Ebute Metta, Lagos. 

Some people found out about his condition and are trying to rehabilitate him. They are also calling on the  federal government to help the former boxer. 

Which brings me to our topic of the day. These people raised the Nigerian flag in their various fields, and now that they've fallen on hard times, does the government have a responsibility towards them? Please share your thoughts!

Introducing Freda-Ann Eko: Naija's rep to Little Miss World Pageant

11 year old JSS 1 student, Freda-Ann Eko, will be representing Nigeria at the forth coming Little Miss World contest, which will take place in Turkey from May 10th to May 20th 2012. The Cross River state born young beauty queen was Miss Gafed in 2006 and is the current Mid-Charming Princess Nigeria, a pageant she won last year. Freda-Ann is also a commercial advert model at Black Dove Modelling Agency.

Boko Haram Says AIT Phone-In Interview Call Is Fake

Islamist militant sect Boko Haram has revealed that a purported telephone call made to the African Independent Television (AIT) by a caller pretending to be a Boko Haram spokesperson was fake.
A source close to the sect told Saharareporters that the no one in the sect or any on its leadership initiated a call threatening to attack Lagos and Abuja in 72 hours.

A Nigerian local TV station-African Independent Television- had played a phone call in which an individual claiming to be a representative of Boko Haram threatened to attack Lagos and Abuja in 72 hours.
The caller also requested that Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan unconditionally  meet with the sect in Yobe state, without security, to discuss the terms of a ceasefire, but our most reliable source said the call was a prank pulled by individuals capitalizing on the hysteria created by Boko Haram's recent attacks in northern Nigeria.
